You must have heard it for a million times, but indeed, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Not just any breakfast, but a healthy and filling one. If you have been following me on instagram, you have probably caught into the fact that I started having smoothies for breakfast. An energising bowl of awesomeness that is filled with superfoods and will be able keep your stomach full till lunch!

Having fruits/smoothies with an empty stomach will allow your body to absorb most of the nutrients from the fruit compared to eating it after a heavy meal. This is because your stomach's churning action will mix them together and it will rot before it even get digested. Your body can absorb the nutrients in smoothies more easily as the blending action breaks helps you to breakdown the harder plant cells wall, making digestion easier.
Today, I am going to share with you my current favourite smoothie recipe of incorporating AVOCADO! Don't be afraid of the high amount of fat content avocado has, because they are all healthy fats which is beneficial to our body.

Benefits of Avocado:
100 grams of avocado contains 7 grams of dietary fibre, including soluble and insoluble. Eating foods with natural fiber can help to prevent constipation, maintain a healthy digestive tract and lower the risk of colon cancer.
Avocados also contain oleic acid, a fat that activates the part of your brain that makes you feel full. Healthier unsaturated fats containing oleic acid have been shown to produce a greater feeling of satiety* than less-healthy saturated fats and trans fats found in processed foods.
Avocados contain lutein and zeaxanthin, two phytochemicals that are especially concentrated in the tissues in the eyes, where they provide antioxidant protection to help minimize damage, including from ultraviolet light.
*Satiety: feeling of satisfactory and fullness during a meal that halts eating.
